FAQ: What is Vitargo S2?
Vitargo is a "Fast, Clean Carbohydrate" used to Fuel Performance and Recovery.
FAQ: What is Vitargo S2 made from?
The two major sources of Vitargo starch are non-GMO barley or non-GMO corn starch. Notably, Vitargo made from barley starch is gluten free, because gluten is a protein and starch is protein free. We independently test each batch of Vitargo S2 after manufacturing for gluten (via the preferred R5 ELISA method).
FAQ: What is Vitargo POST?
It is the combination of Vitargo S2 starch and Hydrolyzed whey protein, in a specific evidence-based ratio. FAQ: Why does Vitargo packaging look different in different countries?
Outside of North America Vitargo starch extract is used as an ingredient in some “co-branded” products, which often contain other ingredients in addition to Vitargo (e.g. electrolytes).
Identification: Co-branded products can often (but not always) be identified by the old yellow and blue Vitargo logo, and the additional ingredients listed on the label. For our International Distributors list Click HERE.

FAQ: What is the difference between Vitargo and Vitargo S2?
Both products are starch extracts (using the same process), but the “S2” stands for Super Soluble, meaning that Vitargo S2 is easier to mix. This is due to the Vitargo being agglomerated, which means that the sizes of the particles of Vitargo S2 starch are larger, making them easier to mix in water.

FAQ: What are the flavors?
We offer: Unflavored/Unsweetened, Natural Tropical Fruit, Natural Grape, Natural Juicy Orange, Natural H2Omelon. Be sure to check out our Vitargo store for the full range of flavors and sizes!
FAQ: Is Vitargo S2 Gluten Free?
Yes, but it’s even better than just “Gluten Free” (gluten free, by legal definition, means less than 20 milligrams of gluten per kilo (2.2lbs) of food product): Uniquely, Vitargo S2 is tested for gluten on EACH batch after production, using a super-sensitive, premier method: R5 ELISA. Vitargo S2 has undetectable amounts of gluten.

FAQ: How is Vitargo S2 Gluten Free if it comes from barley?
Vitargo S2 is a unique extract taken from barley starch. The unique, solvent-free extraction process removes proteins (and fat) from barley. Since gluten is a PROTEIN, removal of proteins could make Vitargo S2 “gluten free”, but we take it one step further: we test each batch (via R5 ELISA), after manufacture, for gluten. The result: undetectable gluten.

FAQ: Is Vitargo S2 Sugar Free?
YES, Vitargo is a starch extract (a unique “amylopectin” type starch) and is sugar free.

FAQ: Is Vitargo S2 manufactured in a cGMP facility? YES
FAQ: Does Vitargo S2 have any known negative side effects? NO
FAQ: Is Vitargo S2 safe for children? YES
FAQ: Does Vitargo S2 contain any stimulants such as caffeine? NO. Also, each batch of Vitargo S2 is tested—after manufacture—for substances banned by sport, by BSCG.org. BSCG is under the direction of Dr. Don Catlin, a preeminent expert in doping in sport.
FAQ: When is the best time to take Vitargo S2? How much should I take?
It can be taken directly before, after or during training. Depending on what you have or haven’t eaten before training or competition, how hard and long you are training or competing, and your body weight, that can guide when to take Vitargo. Athletes often use Vitargo S2 at one or more of these times:
Before: 1-2 scoops 15-30 minutes before training or competition
During: 1-2 scoops per hour during training or competing
After: 1-3 scoops (with a protein source) after training or competition.
FAQ: Can I mix or "stack" Vitargo S2 with other supplements or ingredients?
Yes, you can mix Vitargo S2 with any other ingredient or supplement (creatine, electrolytes, BCAAs, etc.) with one exception: any other food, supplement or beverage that adds in more than 5-10 grams of other carbohydrates. The reason: other carb sources are somewhat-to-much slower in moving through the stomach and being digested/absorbed, and may therefore cause bloating or stomach distress. If you are fueling your body with “racing fuel” does it make sense to also add in regular, low octane gasoline? We don’t think so…

FAQ: What is the best way to mix Vitargo S2?
Vitargo S2 is a STARCH extract, so it mixes differently than most other powders. Any shaker cup will do, but we recommend mixing with a shaker bottle that has an agitator, like the Blender Bottle® or Perfect Shaker®, or you can use an electric blender. It is important to always pour the water into your shaker or blender FIRST, before adding Vitargo S2 powder. If you follow the directions for mixing (on the label) you will find Vitargo S2 easy to mix, and it can be kept in the refrigerator for several days after you have mixed it correctly.
